OUR STORY

Bridger Brewing was born from a belief that anything is possible and that, as a community, we can do everything better. Brewing delicious beer and making great food is just the start. We strive to create community gathering places that give back and inspire others to do the same.

Beer being poured from a tap into a pint glass
When co-founder David Breck teamed up with David Sigler in 2007 to form an engineering consulting firm, he warned his new partner that what he really wanted to do was open a brewery. “Why don’t you do both?” Sigler replied. So they did. In 2011, Jim Eberhard joined the team with cooking skills sharpened over campfires and cook stoves. After years of planning, researching and experimenting, Bridger Brewing opened in Bozeman, Montana in 2013.

David Breck remembers his first sip of craft beer. It felt cold and luscious in his mouth and almost burned going down. He started homebrewing with his brother in Alaska and later found work at breweries and brewpubs while also working for the U.S. Forest Service. From our homebrewing roots to today, we have always loved experimenting with new recipes and refining old favorites. We like to stay nimble as new trends present themselves while still being true to what we love.

Pizza and beer just go together, right? When we decided to serve pizza at our flagship Bozeman location, it was all about collaboration. Jim, our co-owner and culinary manager, was skilled and passionate about cooking meats over an open flame. Our culinary advisor, Rick McElgunn, loved pizza. Jim and Rick teamed up to create a menu of savory and satisfying pizzas to complement our delicious selection of beers. Today, you will still find Jim’s homemade bison pepperoni and house-made sausages on our pizzas. And yes, that is a picture of our very first pizza.

We like to keep it focused in the kitchen while doing things our way. That means using local, sustainable suppliers for ingredients and creating unconventional toppings like bison pepperoni, preservative-free house-made sausage and smoked mozzarella to put our spin on favorites like pizza and salads. As we get ready to open the Three Forks Pub and Grill, we will are preparing a new menu for the new location that follows this same philosophy.

New adventures are always on the horizon. Our next big journey will take us west to Three Forks, Montana where we will open a second location. In addition to a brewery and restaurant, it will also house a full-scale production facility where our beer will be canned for distribution. An on-site amphitheater will allow us to share our love of live music with the community. We’ll see you there in spring 2022!
